Holiday Hoedown Weigh-in Week 2 | Christy

Lord have mercy did the Thanksgiving holiday get me! As much as I’d love to think that I practiced what I preach, the scale says otherwise. Apparently I had one too many pieces of pie and late night snacks. What can I do? I can look forward and realize that it’s just a blip on the radar.

Today at bootcamp I was talking to my trainer,Wende, and she told me that the average person gains 3 pounds over the Thanksgiving holiday and 11 pounds from Thanksgiving through New Years. WOW. That used to be me. I used to be average, and I know I probably gained that much or even more. That was years ago, though. YEARS.

So this week I gained, and I know why I gained and I’ve been at this whole thing long enough to know that ‘this too shall pass’. I’m back on track, and feeling good about where I’m going. Yeah, it might take me longer to get there, but being so close to my goal, I guess I need to learn how to deal with these gains, and turn things around.

Challenge start: 136 Last week: 135.2

This week: 137

GAH! MUST DRINK MORE WATER!

So my 3 plans to help get me through the rest of this holiday season with a deficit are:

  1. Get serious about my water intake. I’m really good at nagging everyone else to drink water, and yet I’ve fallen off the wagon myself. Can you do me a favor and nag me a little?
  2. Go to bootcamp as much as possible this month. Since we’ll be out of town most of the last 2 weeks of December, this will be hard, but I’m going to try and squeeze in a few extra sessions before then.
  3. Start running again. I’ve been on running hiatus for far too long, and I just need to SHUT UP AND RUN.
