It’s time! It’s time! We are taking registrations for our 2nd annual Team Shrinking Jeans! We are training to run or walk the San Diego Rock ‘n’ Roll half-marathon on June 5th, 2011. We will also offer the full marathon option for those of you crazy people who are interested in doing all 26.2 miles. While we prefer that you join us and Coach Joe in San Diego, we understand that it isn’t possible for everyone, so find a half-marathon race in your area on that day or make one of your own! We still want you on our team! Never done a race in your life? No problem! 16 weeks is plenty of time to get you ready for that first half-marathon!
Our team will be fundraising for charity: water. This video sums up our mission:
100% of the donations we collect will go to providing clean water for areas that have the greatest need. It takes $5,000 to fund one well for one village. How many wells can our team provide? I am beyond excited to see the difference we can make in people’s lives.
We have the awesome Coach Joe on board again this season. He successfully managed to coach 14 of us (several first-timers!) across the finish line last season! Coach Joe will provide a training plan, support, and on-site coaching the day of the race in San Diego. He is a fun guy and an excellent coach and you can see more from him here.
