Sometimes you just have to… | The Sisterhood of the Shrinking Jeans LLC

I have a question for you…

Is there something that you can do now that you have lost weight? Something that you couldn’t do when you were overweight, but you’ve made enough changes that it’s a possibility now?

For me, it’s wearing dresses. When I was overweight, I rarely wore dresses. When I did have the very rare opportunity to dress up, I had to go with skirts and tops because I was two different sizes.

But lately, I have been drawn to dresses. It all started when I decided I was going to get a new dress for a vacation. I finally found the perfect Little Back Dress that fits me soooo well, that I don’t have to wear any shapewear underneath it. I practically skipped home I was so happy.

I thought the story would end there.

But yesterday, I went shopping for jewelry for the vacation. As I was standing in line to check out, I saw an awesome dress. It was a beautiful color and I loved the cut. I knew I would have no occasion to wear such a nice dress, but I decided that I was going to try it on anyway.

I looked awesome. I’m not going to lie. I may have been having trouble breathing sucking it in a little bit, but I stinkin’ looked good in that dress. I immediately took a picture on my phone and posted it on Twitter with the caption “Sometimes you just have to try the dress.”

And now I have this picture saved on my phone. This is my new reminder of how far I’ve come and how hard I’ve worked.

And seriously. I look good.

How would you finish the sentence “Sometimes you just have to…”? What can you do now to remind yourself of what you’ve gained because of what you lost?
