Sometimes, when you are trying something new, it’s easy to get bogged down in the details. The new plan becomes overwhelming and you feel like a failure if you are not able to hit each of the goals that the new plan sets out for you.

Somewhere along the line, you lose sight of your own goal and adopt someone else’s.

Let me ask you…how long did you stick with that plan? If you found yourself discouraged because you weren’t “keeping up”, did that motivate you to keep on going?

If you are anything like me, you gave up. Plain and simple, you threw in the towel because you were not able to do what someone else said should be easy to do.

I’ve been there. I can’t even tell you how many programs and plans that I started and then did not follow through with because I wasn’t going at the pace the program said I should be going.

That was the longest sentence in the world, and I’m not even sure it made sense.

Long story short, if you are not fitting into someone else’s mold, STOP TRYING!!

The only way you are going to be successful in whatever you are trying to do is to set up your own rules…define your own success, if you will. Find out what works for YOU. This is YOUR journey, so why play by someone else’s rules?

How do YOU define success? And what are you going to do today to work towards that ultimate goal?

Don’t think you’re on the right road just because it’s a well-beaten path.  ~Author Unknown
