Good afternoon! How are you this fine Monday?

It’s time for our weekly C25K check-in! I should have just started Week 8, but I found myself getting a little behind this past week. I have started back at the gym several times a week.

MUSCLE WORK + KICKBOXING = SORE MELISSA = NO RUNNING

Yeah. Not good. I did two classes back-to-back on Friday and ohmygoodness, I could barely walk all weekend, much less run.

I did my first Week 7 workout early last week and it was a complete and total mess. I walked over half of the prescribed 25-minute running section. It left much to be desired and left me wanting to give up.

Last night, I read this post by one of my favorite bloggers, and decided there is no possible way I can quit now. No.Way.

Today, I set out bright and early for my Day 2 of Week 7 before I could talk myself out of it. The temperature was hovering around 50 and it was cloudy and drizzly. If the stench of dead worms wasn’t so heavy in the air, it would have been a perfect morning for a run!

This run was the complete opposite of my Day 1 of Week 7. I only had to walk twice for a minute each during the entire 25 minutes! I felt waaaaaay better. I managed to squeak out 2.7 miles in that 35-minute workout. I had to block out the squish, squish, squish of the worms with each and every step, but I DID IT!

{ew}

I will finish what I have started.
