Pizza. I absolutely adore pizza. I could eat it at least every other day.
Okay. Every single day. Ahem.
In theory, pizza could be a pretty healthy food. Grains (the crust), dairy (cheese) and veggies. But *that* pizza? It’s something I talk about, then I end up eating a greasy slice of pepperoni and olive.
Why? Cause usually that’s what ends up in our house if I order it – my family loves their pepperoni. And if I buy frozen pizzas? Forget about it. I usually don’t even go near them, because they’re tragically high in fat and calories.
Sigh. What’s a girl to do?
About a month ago, I was contacted by one of my favorite companies, Vitalicious, to try their new pizza, VitaPizza. Of course I said YES! I adore Vitalicious and have been a huge fan of their VitaTops for ages. I was dying to check out their take on pizza.
Last week, a box of pizzas arrived on dry ice (FANCY!). I couldn’t wait to pop one in the microwave. I tried the Meatless Pepperoni Supreme first. It came out of the microwave wonderfully chewy absolutely did not taste like a diet product. Even better? The portion sizes are reasonable. When I think ‘light’ pizza, I think something the size of an english muffin. Not the case here. Actually, the VitaPizza is larger than a typical single serve microwave pizza. Score!
I also tried the Cheese and Tomato. Also delicious. Paired with a nice green salad, they make for a perfectly balanced and satisfying meal.
