The Great Maintenance Challenge – Maintain Your Weight This Holiday Season


Cookies, candy, and booze! Oh, my! Have you finished decking the halls with bows of holly. I have! And personally, I’m just about Fa la la la la, la la la la’d out! This holiday season has flown by. At warp speed. And now it’s time to tip toe over to the friendly little scale, for the last time, to see how we all did! Did you maintain your weight? Did we avoid the dreaded Holiday 15? Okay, I totally made that up, but really, who doesn’t usually gain a couple of pounds this time of year? The whole premise of this challenge was to help you be mindful while still enjoying, because no one really wants to worry about counting calories at Christmas. It’s much more fun to count 11 pipers piping or 8 tiny reindeer, than calories.

So go ahead and tell us….did you maintain your weight during The Great Maintenance Challenge? Did you stay within a pound or two? Do you feel good when you look back over the last 5 weeks?

Truth be told, I had my moments. I managed to gain a pound or two, but in the back of my mind there was always that little voice telling me not to go crazy. I’m pretty sure that voice was YOU, so thank you for that!

Right now, I want you to congratulate yourself….go ahead and give yourself a pat on the back. If you made it through this challenge, with all the ups and downs and craziness of the season, you did a lot more than most people!

Guess what?!!! We have another challenge starting in less than a week. It’s the grand-daddy of all challenges here at the Sisterhood – the ‘OMG It’s January 1st and I Need To Get My Ass In Gear’ Challenge. Yep. It’s going to totally awesome *happy clap*. And you’re going to set goals (resolutions are so 1999), and write letters, and BLOG all about it. Seriously. If you don’t blog, now is a GREAT time to start up a blog to keep track of things. It’s a great way to get support and give support, and see just how awesome you really are. So get you one. They’re totally free. Just go to and tell them I sent you 😉

In addition to the nifty weight loss challenge we’re about to kick off, we are also jumping feet first into the Couch to 5K running program. That’s right! Lisa, our resident running hero is going to lead a very special program with running mentors who cannot wait to help you out. Whether you’re a first-time runner, or have run in the past and just want to get started again, we are here to help you out, to cheer you on, and to hand out plenty of high fives. Read this for more information!

So we’ll see you back here on January 1st. Don’t worry if you have morning breath or a hangover! We totally don’t mind (and we probably will too!). Just remember to jump on the scale first thing that morning, and get yourself over here for the most kick-ass weight loss challenge you’ve ever been a part of!
