Summer Blowout Weight Loss Challenge | The Sisterhood of the Shrinking Jeans LLC


Guess what my little pretties? Summer is coming to an end. GASP. And you know what? I still haven’t managed to achieve that bikini body I set out to own way back in the colder months. WTH?

Rather than throw in the towel, or rather wrap it around my still-a-little-jiggly middle, we here at the Sisterhood of the Shrinking Jeans are hosting a Summer Blowout Weight Loss challenge! It’s kind of like the mother of all blowout sales at Anthropologie or Target, only it’s a blowout where you lose WEIGHT instead of all of the money in your checking account. Sounds like a win to me.

You (and your wallet) will thank me later. True story.

Weight Loss Challenge Details:

Who: YOU. Also, your significant other, kids, parents, siblings, BFF, neighbor, mail carrier, dog groomer. Anyone and everyone. Invite them all. The more people you have ‘doing it with you’ the better you’ll fare. Promise. Support is vital.

When: {this} Wednesday, August 7th, 2013. Like in less than two days, yo.

Where: This is the cool thing: you can lose weight anywhere. For real. But you’ll want to stop by here everyday for motivation, support, informative tidbits, and of course on Wednesdays to tell us how awesome you’re doing.

Why: *ahem* To get rid of that muffin top, jelly roll, middle jiggle…..I mean, you’re here for a reason, so do we really need to ask why?!

How: This is the big question everyone asks. Gather really close and I’ll tell you the real secret way to lose weight. It’s groundbreaking, y’all.


*Of course it’s really not simple, and we all know that. Losing weight is hard. But it doesn’t have to suck either. Hang out around here for motivation and support, and some laughs, and we promise that it won’t suck quite so hard. Laughing burns calories, dontchaknow? And it’s more fun to do anything with a group of other people who are doing the same the thing, right?

Apps you might find helpful in your weight loss challenge efforts:

Smartphones have changed the face of fitness. With a eleventy billion apps at your fingers, you really have no excuse not to be moving your ass. I mean, apps are FUN and cool and they give you numbers and stats and maps and stuff. You can check out an awesome review Mary wrote about some of her favorite Fitness Apps, and then check out some of these!

My Fitness Pal – which happens to keep track of everything you stuff into your pie hole AND all the exercises.

Weight Watchers Online – don’t knock it till you try it. I lost 5o pounds using the WW 8 years ago.

RunKeeper – which isn’t only for runners! I like the cool GPS tracking and the fact that it tells me how fast I am going every.single.minute.

Gadgets and Gizmos and Trackers, Oh My!

Are you looking for some actual tools to help you along the way? Because we love us some tools that have data so we can analyze every second of our weight losses. Seriously, it’s fun, and it takes my mind off the fact that I’m not eating Cocoa Puffs and drinking a beer while I watch Walking Dead on Netflix at midnight.

We have mad love for FitBit here at the Sisterhood. We also love our BodyMedia armbands, and our POLAR heart rate monitors. And nothing beats a good ole pedometer!
