Hi friends! It’s Toot Your Horn Tuesday, the day of the week where we boast boast boast about ourselves without shame or a drop of conceit! Let’s hear from you. I am CERTAIN that you have something to toot your horn about it, big or small! So let’s here it.
How did you all do over the holiday weekend? Did you successfully navigate your way through those tempting dishes at your barbecues and cook outs? Did you fit in some exercise? Did you cross the finish line in a Memorial Day race?
I was on-call for my job all weekend long, which means I am glued to my phone in case my work is trying to reach me and it also means, as it did this weekend, some very long days and one helluva crazy schedule. I essentially worked every day of the holiday weekend at some point of each day. Here is my main “tootable” accomplishment: With all the running around I had to do, driving here and there, and keeping some long hours and late nights, I did not resort to any fast food. A few months ago, this would have been unheard of. We all know how damn easy they make it to grab something quickly and go. Hell, you don’t even have to get out of your car now, do you? Pull up, pay up, eat up. I avoided driving in the parts of town near me where fast food chains are prevalent. Out of sight out of mind! And I knew that at home I head healthy leftovers in the fridge waiting for me no matter what time I rolled in.
Hold up! I almost forgot to mention one more thing to toot about: Down 3lbs at my WW meeting Saturday morning and now 3 new marbles are in my “Pounds Lost” jar. Each week I am working hard to add just one more. I find if I focus on “one pound” at a time, it helps me keep my head in the game.
