Back to Basics Weight Loss Challenge: Check In Week 3 | The Sisterhood of the Shrinking Jeans LLC

Hello hello, Shrinkers! If you are reading this and you know it’s Wednesday, then you know that only means one thing! Time to strip down to those beautiful birthday suits and hop on the scale for our weekly weigh in.  How did you do? Good, bad or ugly, we want to hear about it.

We are heading into the LAST week of our Back to Basics Challenge. How is that even possible?! It seems like we just started yesterday but in reality we started on Sept. 3. Have you been focusing on getting back to basics? By basics I mean regular exercise, keeping a food journal, watching those portions and eating with intention vs. eating out of boredom, sadness, joy or whatever the emotion might be at the moment.

I recently returned from a fabulously relaxing vacation on  Cape Cod, or shall we just call it The Land of the Never-ending Bowl of Chowdah? Add to that the fried clams and cocktails and you can easily see why I would like to avoid the scale at all costs this week. But I know from my previous history that avoidance never helps me move forward. Avoidance keeps me  stuck or backtracking. That is not where I want to be.  I guess you could say that my mind, body and soul took a vacation this past week. Sometimes you just need a break.

The good news is is that I walked nearly every day while I was away. More good news:  I have a new FitBit after my beloved old One was run over by a car in my work parking lot. And I am going to be signing up for The Sisterhood’s next Virtual Race: The Turkey Trot. If I get one of my neighbors to loan me their dog, I could even enter the Mutt Strut. If you have never signed up for a virtual race before, this is a great chance to try one out. You get to pick your own course for a 5k, 10k and you can walk or run it, it’s entirely up to you. There is also a 1-mile fun run. Click on the link above for all the details.

My mind, body and soul are back in the game. I am committed to showing  this last week of the challenge who’s boss! Won’t you join me?
