Melissa | Melissa – Part 6


Did I really just say “weekly”? Because if you have been paying any attention, I haven’t weighed in for a few weeks. No, I did not go spiraling out of control, but I have been rather lax with my eating habits and beer-drinking habits. Hey, it’s warming up here in old North Dakota and Leinenkugel’s Summer Shandy is the BEST.

So, if you read my confessions yesterday, my behavior is already out there. I have been on vacation. The kids and I put on over 1,600 miles in the past week. We ate a lot of gas station snacks.

My last run was 12 miles on May 16th and my last muscle work class was on May 17th. May 18th I woke up with excruciating pain in my right knee and have been taking it easy, since my 1/2 marathon is in 10 days!!!!!!

So, back to the scale. This morning it read 211.6. I have LOST weight since my last weigh-in, not much, but still a LOSS. In fact, I have lost weight on every vacation I have taken this year so far. I think this means I need to vacation until I get to my goal weight.

I am stoked. I have renewed motivation. I was already planning on going to muscle work this morning and just avoiding the squatting and lunging, and possibly doing a few miles after, but now I am going to do something a little more in addition.

I leave for San Diego next Friday. That’s 9 days of pushing myself and keeping my eating under control. My goal is to be under 210 when I get to California. I am issuing myself a little side challenge. 200 crunches/day and 30 push-ups/day (I have to do them on my knees and don’t want to push it).  So, by the time I get on that plane Friday morning, I will have done 2,000 crunches and 300 push-ups.

Can I get a HELL YEAH?!
