this 30 day shred shit works | The Sisterhood of the Shrinking Jeans

A size 16 at one place might not be the same at a different place.  You go to one clothing store only to HAVE to squeeze in the 16’s, but then you trot to the next clothing store only to be a Size 14.  It can make shopping for yourself a living hell, especially when you have no desire to be a 16 and only limited desire to be a 14, and that’s only because that’s lower than a 16.  And you find that you have to try on clothes everywhere you go because you don’t know what the hell size you are at any given place.

I hate when that happens.  And that happens all the time for me.

Don’t even get me started on shopping for a bathing suit.  Oh the horror.

Not that I am shopping right now.  I am waiting until I am done losing weight and THEN I will go shopping.

So I have not worn regular, non-maternity clothes in over a year.  The baby is almost 7 months old.  I am so tired of my same 10 outfits, and I especially tired of wearing stretchy, elastic-y jeans and shorts (except when I eat too much or it’s “that” time of the month- then my elastic shorts are the BEST).

Oh, who am I kidding?  I am tired of wearing the maternity shirts as well because, well, because I still look pregnant when I wear them.  My pre-pregnant clothes were are all form-fitting and body clingy- I was in the best shape of my life right before I got pregnant.  During my pregnancy, I threw all caution to the wind and gained, gained, gained, gained.  OMG- I was huge!  Christy, wasn’t I BIG at the very end?  Amanda?  Ya’ll saw me.  Of course, when baby boy was born at 9lbs 4oz, I understood why I was so big.

Man, I am totally off track.  Where was I?

So yeah, after having baby boy, I lost a little, but certainly not enough and it seems as if my body JUST DOES NOT WANT TO GIVE UP THE POST-PREGNANCY WEIGHT.  Wth?

But I am taking aggressive action and doing the Shred Challenge and eating much healthier and actually telling myself that , No, eating all that Easter candy is not going to help you reach your goal.  Put away the chips – they are not going to help you reach your goal.  Get off your butt and exercise- that will help you reach your goal.

Today is Day 12 of the Shred and I decided to give my “tight 14’s” a try, to see if they were still tight.  Ya’ll know exactly what I am talking about when I say “tight 14’s” versus “loose 14’s”.   Those tight 14’s were no longer tight, and even a little loose- Praise the Lord.  Then, I decided to try the “tight 14’s” and OMG, those fit perfectly.

AND THEN, for shits and giggles, I tried on the 12’s (and it doesn’t matter if they are tight or loose because the fact that the tag inside of the jeans says 12 is ALL THAT MATTERS).  And I could actually zip up AND button those bad boys.  They were by no means comfortable and I had to tuck my muffin top inside, but that’s OK.  Because I could zip them up and button them.

Now I have even MORE motivation to exercise and eat right.

I am so excited to keep on, keep on.

If only my wedding ring would fit comfortably.  That is the next big hurdle.
