Six-Pack March

So, I was reading Nancy’s Fab Ab post this morning, and my wheels started turning. What a great idea! I WANT FAB ABS. Right now, my flabs {as my 8-year-old boy refers to them} leave a lot to be desired. This needs to change. While I may not be able to achieve a six-pack or even a four-pack in a month, I can surely finish a lot stronger than my current state, right?

Don’t forget to take some before and after photos so you can see your progress at the end of the month. Come April 1st, you will see some serious muscles. And I’m not foolin’.

    I was doing pretty well with the FabAb’s but then a double ear infection and sinus infection railroaded me, so I’m going to attempt it again….hopefully I will be able to do it while doing the other weight workouts I’m doing with the #ironsisters!

    I tried to do my sit ups today but I got halfway in and my lower abs just hurt SO much.  I tried.  I did the pushups and planks, but the situps were extremely painful.  I will try to keep going, but I may have to break up the exercises into two sets so I don’t injure myself.

      I am NOT doing well with this challenge.  The first 12 days were great!  Then I went to Tae Kwon Do Monday night and I was so sore on Tuesday, that if I had gotten on the floor to do these exercises I never would have gotten up again.  So now I’m 3 days behind…. and the 45 situps nearly killed me yesterday.  I also can’t plank past 60 seconds.  Ugh.

         As I said above,  you want to push yourself but NOT injure yourself! Take it slower than the plan if need be! No biggie! I am behind, too.

           Thanks LissaJoy.  Today was better and I was able to do 45 situps this morning.  I’m going to stop thinking of it as being behind, and just work through the days as far as I can.

    If we have already done the Fab Abs for February, how do we build on that with this plan? For the situps, I thought about adding 100 to the 10 on Mar. 1 since I’ve already worked up to doing 90 a day and continuing like that throughout the month. Maybe starting at 25 for the pushups? (Easy to add 20 to what is on the calendar for each day.) Thoughts on this?

    I think you need to spend more time teaching yourself and your son not to “Fat Talk”. I would be devastated if any of my kids mad such a hurtful comment. I realize he may not have meant any harm, but you need to teach him the value of inner beauty, and that the outside package does not matter. Health and kindness does :(
