Fab-Abs January! {Monthly Workout Calendar}

Tomorrow begins a new year, a new you, and yes, even a new monthly workout calendar! Who doesn’t want Fab-Abs in 2013? Goodbye jelly rolls, hello SIX-PACK! Let’s sit-up, push-up, and plank our way to abs of steel, m’kay?

About Lissa: Melissa is the Co-Founder of Shrinking Kitchen and the Sisterhood of the Shrinking Jeans She has been married for a dozen years and is mother to six children (17,14, 10, 10 and 2 and a foster baby!).       its when you put all your weight on ur elbows, by putting them on the ground, and holding yourself upwards. :)

    A plank is holding yourself up in a stationary push-up position on your toes. You can also google images of a plank position.

      Consecutive, but you can take small, short breaks if needed!

    I started the Fab-Abs January Calendar from zero fitness routine and it’s really tough. But after 7 days the first results start to show. Getting excited now more and more to wake up every morning and check my more and more “steeled” muscles. I’ll keep fighting!

    how many sets of each do you do. surely you don’t just do 10 sit ups etc. the first day and be done?

      Yes, just one set each day. If you are not a beginner, please feel free to do more sets in the beginning weeks! We set it up so that anyone can complete the entire month.

    Today I had to set up for an event at work. I did this regularly in the past, but this was the first time since the holidays, and the first time since I started this challenge. I wouldn’t say I was a total weakling to begin with, but I did find some of the things I had to carry and rearrange for this event a little heavy in the past. Today? I couldn’t believe how light everything seemed. Yay for progress! And thanks for creating these challenges :)

    I just found you on pinterest and i was wondering if i have to wait until February to start this or is it okay to start in the middle of the month? If so, how would i go about doing this?

      Just start at the beginning of the calendar and mark the days off as you do them! :)

    Is this just to get a six pack or to burn fat too?

      It’s purpose is to tone up you abdominals – to burn fat, you’ll need to incorporate cardio, high intensity cardio in particular!
