Hey all! I’m back with my latest Stitch Fix review! Actually, this is going to be two reviews rolled into one, because my Fixes are delivered every 3 weeks or so, and that is apparently faster than I can take photos and write a blog post! The weather has been warming up in North Dakota, and while we have been blessed with lots of rain this year, some sunshine-y days are peeking through the gloom! That means short sleeves, dresses, and sandals! Summer is all too short up north, and I plan to cram it full of warm-weather fashions.
How Does Stitch Fix Work?
It’s easy to get started -you just fill out your personal style profile, schedule your first fix, and then tear into it when it arrives on your doorstep a few weeks later. A personal stylist actually hand-selects five items for you based upon your style profile, requests, and budget preferences. When your fix is scheduled, you pay a $20 styling fee. If you keep any item from your Fix, this $20 is applied to your purchase. If you keep nothing, you lose your twenty bucks… wah, wah, wah. If you keep ALL the items, you also receive a 25% discount off all the items! You have three days to decide what’s staying and what’s not, then you just throw your return pile into a postage-paid bag and drop it in the mail! So easy!
When you check-out online, you have the option to leave feedback for your stylist -do this! It helps your stylist nail down your style and personal preferences. Also, if you find a stylist you love, request her on your next Fix! I’ve had the same stylist for months now, and I adore her. She does a fantastic job of selecting pieces for me!
Another tip: Make a Pinterest board with your favorite fashions and keep it updated. Link to it on your Stitch Fix style profile, so your stylist will have easy access!
At the present time, Stitch Fix only styles women sizes 0/XS through 14/XL. They also offer maternity and petite sizing.
My Pieces
As I said earlier, you are getting a two-for-one review this time! Apparently I love Stitch Fix a little too much and my fixes are arriving faster than I can review them! Or maybe it’s just that end-of-the-school-year momma-of-six craziness? Either way, I still get super excited when I come home from running kids around town to see a Stitch Fix box waiting at my door!
Fix #1
I was assigned a new stylist this time… I’m not sure what happened to my beloved Nicole, but Jennifer did a fantastic job picking out pieces that fit both my style and my budget! After this fix, I did request her again.
Romolo Genevieve Stacked Chevron Pendant Necklace {$28}: I saw a few other ladies getting this chevron necklace in their Fixes and loved it, so I was excited to see it in mine! What’s not to love? I did make a note in my account after this, though, that I need no more necklaces! I’m limiting my jewelry to dangly earrings only! Verdict: KEEP.
Kut from the Kloth Kate Distressed Boyfriend Jean {$78}: I have wanted a pair of boyfriend jeans for the longest time… I was sent a pair a few months ago, but they just weren’t what I was looking for, so I sent them back. These jeans are take two… They sent a smaller size this time and I love that these have some distressing. I’m not sure they qualify as “boyfriend jeans”, more like skinny jeans, but I love them anyway! Verdict: KEEP!
Pixley Marie Abstract Chevron Elastic Waist Dress {$64}: I love the style of this dress. I have a similar one I received last spring in a blue color, and it has been one of my favorites. That is, until it got some oil-type spots on the chiffon overlay. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get them out… anyone have any tips? So, this dress. Love the style and fit. Hate my pasty white skin with the coloring. I have faith that summertime will lend my skin a little more color, and with a belt, this dress will be awesome. Verdict: KEEP.
Market & Spruce Char Ikat Print Maxi Skirt {$58}: I love the whole idea behind maxi skirts, I just haven’t been able to find one I love on me. This skirt changed all that. It’s the right length, colorful without being obnoxious, and flattering. Now I just need to find the right shirt to go with it! Verdict: KEEP!
Brixon Ivy Alessandria Crochet Bib Lace Top {$54}: I’ve pinned several bohemian-style white and ivory tops on my Stitch Fix pinterest board, and Jennifer took note. I love this top… it’s lightweight and feminine. All was good until I put the top on (after I already paid for it earlier in the month) for photos and noticed a huge hole in the sleeve. I emailed customer service and will be sending the shirt back for a refund. Sad face. Verdict: KEEP and then SENT BACK.
Fix #2
I requested to keep Jennifer on as my stylist, as she hit a home run with my last Fix. I also noted that I have several party occasions coming up -my oldest son’s high school graduation, my youngest daughter’s adoption finalization, and my 3-year-olds end-of-chemo celebration. Exciting events call for cute clothes!
Bay to Baubles Cardena Triple Layer Oval Earrings {$28}: Love these. Enough said. Verdict: KEEP!
Papermoon Morena V-Neck Tee {$38}: I love the color of this tee and the fabric is so, so soft. Perfect combination with the boyfriend jeans they sent me last month. Note: I have since worn this shirt and it snags very easily. Boo. Verdict: KEEP!
Dear John Finnegan Roll Cuff Chino Short {$48}: I saw these shorts on another person’s review and instatnly fell in love. I wasn’t sure if I could pull them off, but pinned them anyway, hoping to try. They are a bit too big and too short for my tastes, so back they go. Verdict: SEND BACK!
Pixley Jakobe Maxi Dress {$78}: I actually love this dress. It’s soooo comfortable and perfect for a busy mom. See picture below of me kicking soccer balls at my children. I love it with a belt, just maybe not this belt. The fabric looked all too familiar, though, and sure enough. See maxi skirt up above. What the heck. That ruined it for me, as I am not going to pay $78 for a dress version of the maxi skirt I just bought. It breaks my heart a little to send it back though. Verdict: SEND BACK. No… wait. Come back!
Smash Rikki Bird Print Dress {$68}: I love, love, love this dress. It’s a little on the big side, but I think with the ribbon tied around the waist, it still works and looks good. It’s the perfect summer dress! You will be seeing this on me at what of my upcoming parties, for sure! Verdict: KEEP!
So, what do you think? Did I make the right decisions? Do you subscribe to Stitch Fix? If so, what are your favorite spring/summer pieces? Tell me about them below, or link to your reviews!

I get oil and grease out of my machine washable clothes by using a WD-40 pen on the oil/grease spots before I throw them in the washer. Air dry after the first washing, and see how they do. Wash again if needed - voila! I have saved a few items this way. If your stain is set though, or not grease/oil based, this won’t work.
Thanks!!
Rubbing chalk on a stain before washing will get out an oil stain.
You can put regular dish soap (the kind you use in the sink not the dishwasher… like dawn) on the oil spot just like you would stain stick. Rub it in, let it sit for a bit (you don’t have to wait for it to dry, but you can if you are waiting to do a load of laundry). Works every time!
May God bless you and your family.
Wonderful reviews! I have been getting Stitchfix for about a year now and love it. I have had a couple of my shirts shrink which is very disconcerting after paying $50. for them. Are we able to return a shirt that has shrunk do you know? I just received a very pretty Stitchfix brand top, and it shrunk after the first wash. I followed the washing directions exactly, washing on delicate and line drying. I line dry most of my clothes anyway.
