What I Love About Stitch Fix
It’s easy! I’m a momma to six kids, and you can about imagine how much fun shopping is with a 3-year-old and 1-year-old in tow. No thank you. I much prefer to have my clothes delivered to my doorstep and then put on a fashion show for the kids! Post-runway walk, each kid says “YAY!” or “NAY!” to the pieces before I make my final decisions. I even have my own personal 11-year-old paparazzi photographer.
It’s fun! My stylist picks out clothing that I would never even think to try on! Sometimes it’s a total miss, but most times she is spot-on! Plus, every time I spy a Stitch Fix box on my doorstep, it’s like Christmas! Another bonus? I know that I won’t be seeing the pieces I keep on everyone else in my town!
It’s affordable. You can set your preferred budget, and your style will do her best to send pieces that fall within that range. Plus, Stitch Fix has an awesome referral program -you can receive credit for clothing each time one of your friends signs up! Free clothes? YES! If you end up keeping all five pieces from your Fix, you will receive a 25% discount!
April’s Fix:
Morrie Boyfriend Denim Jacket by Just USA {$58}: I cheated and looked ahead to see what items were in my Fix {yeah, I always do!}, and I was a little disappointed to see a denim jacket was on it’s way… I mean, I don’t think I’ve actually worn one since 1989. It was a beautiful acid wash, I’m sure. I did change my mind quickly once I put on the Morrie Jacket -it’s super cute and the perfect addition to summery dresses! Verdict: KEEP!
Moni Geo Print & Camisole Blouse by 41Hawthorn {$58}: I knew I wasn’t going to care for this blouse the minute I pulled it out of the box. It’s just… loud? The sleeves also hit at a weird place on my arms and annoyed the hell out of me. No. Buh-bye. Verdict: SEND BACK, fast.
Fierro Elbow Patch Crew Neck Sweater by Market & Spruce {$58}: This sweater had me at elbow patch. It’s a cute minty-green and those elbow patches sold me. It’s a lighter sweater, so it will be suitable for all seasons! Verdict: KEEP.
Remmie Ikat Print Maxi Skirt by Papermoon {$74}: I have been wanting a cute maxi skirt for ages now and had high hopes for this skirt from Papermoon. It’s cute, but I just didn’t love it. It was a little large around the waist and the print didn’t really appeal to me, especially for $74! I guess my search for the perfect maxi skirt will continue! Verdict: SEND BACK.
Dante Cut Out Metal Oval Layered Necklace {$32}: I was on the fence about this necklace… it’s not something I would normally wear, but as I think ahead to summer, I feel it will go well with a lot of my summer dresses and tanks, so it stayed. Verdict: KEEP.
How Does Stitch Fix Work?
It’s easy to get started -you just fill out your personal style profile, schedule your first fix, and then tear into it when it arrives on your doorstep a few weeks later. A personal stylist actually hand-selects five items for you based upon your style profile, requests, and budget preferences. When your fix is scheduled, you pay a $20 styling fee. If you keep any item from your Fix, this $20 is applied to your purchase. If you keep nothing, you lose your twenty bucks… wah, wah, wah. If you keep ALL the items, you also receive a 25% discount off all the items! You have three days to decide what’s staying and what’s not, then you just throw your return pile into a postage-paid bag and drop it in the mail! So easy!
When you check-out online, you have the option to leave feedback for your stylist -do this! It helps your stylist nail down your style and personal preferences. Also, if you find a stylist you love, request her on your next Fix! I’ve had the same stylist for months now, and I adore her. She does a fantastic job of selecting pieces for me!
Another tip: Make a Pinterest board with your favorite fashions and keep it updated. Link to it on your Stitch Fix style profile, so your stylist will have easy access!
At the present time, Stitch Fix only styles women sizes 0/XS through 14/XL. They have just added in maternity and petite sizing… so hopefully plus-size is soon to follow?

Full disclosure: I receive a referral credit for everyone that signs up through my link! Once you sign up and invite your friends, you will, too! I won’t get rich, but you will help keep me fashionably clothed. All opinions stated are my own!

I, too, would love a super cute max skirt or dress, but every one I try on I could pull up to my boobs and they would still be too long. Short person problem. I love all that you kept - funny what you said about the jean jacket. I have one that looks a lot like it that I’ve had for years and still wear with my casual dresses.
The colorful top was my favorite!!! It looks awesome on you, skank!
I love the necklace and jacket! I’ve been wanting to get a maxi skirt also but I am not sure how it would look on my since I am so short. My fix this month was a 5 out of 5! Woohoo! http://www.theeverydaywarrior.com/2015/04/03/stitch-fix-review-9-april-2015/
Thanks for posting your Fixes, it’s so fun to see what others get! How can you see what they are sending?? I would love to cheat too! :)
Where it lists your tracking info once shipped, there is a little link under it to check out - click that and you can see what they sent!
I am in love with your green and white dress!! Where’d you get it?!
Stitchfix! :)
I am SO glad that I am not the only one who sneaks to see what is coming in the box. It is still a bit of a surprise, as the colors and feel of the fabric is often what sells me anyway. Thanks for sharing your fix - love the things you kept, they look fabulous!
