Ah-ha!

Yesterday I stepped on the scale for the weekly weigh-in. It was the first time I’d officially weigh-in in 2 weeks and I was very disappointed to see I’d gained 6.8 pounds. VERY disappointed and shocked. I knew I hadn’t lost and figured I’d gained a few over the holidays, but 6.8? Craziness.

Today I weighed-in to log my starting weight for the new Challenge and the number was 155.8. That’s a big difference. I zeroed out my scale and checked it several times and came up with the same number each time. Hmph.

My only thought was I had been retaining a hell of a lot of water and the 80 ounces of water I drank yesterday must have helped flush it out? And then I started my period. You see, I never know if or when it’s going to come since I’m still breastfeeding and have a Mirena IUD. Mr doctor told me with the IUD, I might never get a period or if I do they’ll probably be light. So I’m thinking that I was retaining water because I had PMS, which totally explains why I had the overwhelming urge to run my son over with the shopping cart in Walmart on Monday. Damned PMS!
