Motivation

View Comments 02/27/2009 | lisa

I was out shopping tonight for something, anything to wear that was NOT in a maternity size.  As I was trying on clothes and checking out my appearance in the dressing room mirrors (why are the lights so BRIGHT in the dressing room?  Good GAWD), I became so discouraged that I may never wear regular sized clothes again, that I might be destined for maternity wear for the rest of my life.

I hated everything I tried on.  Let me correct myself, I hated the way MY body looked in those clothes.

I vowed right then and there that I will lose this weight.  I vowed to start exercising consistently.  I vowed to watch what I eat.  I vowed NOT to be wearing maternity clothes for much longer.

Know what I bought?

Exercise clothes.

When those exercise clothes start to show all the hard work and effort you have sweated into them, the other clothes will look the way you want them too. Then you can tell your husband “kiss me, I'm shrinking!”

I love buying exercise clothes! I have no doubts that you will be out of those maternity clothes SOON!!

Dawn is right, don't beat yourself up, take it one day at a time. Exercise is great, but it also helps a lot to write down EVERYTHING that you eat. You'll love the results!!

Good! excercise clothes, very appropriate. A friend buys one size smaller than her size to motivate her to loose weight. It worked for her a couple of times, then she slip back, she is at it again. So I'd say to her don't stop trying you did it before.
