1st Mini-Challenge

The first mini-challenge of the Shrink Into Summer Challenge is geared to those of you who have Wii Fit. We’re going Hula!! Now, I know not all of you have a Wii or a Wii Fit, so maybe this challenge is just the reason you need to go out and get one! You can always beg, borrow, or steal one from a friend! If that’s not an option for you, grab an old-fashioned hoop hula along with us just for fun.

Now for the challenge! If you have Wii Fit, you must hula enough to unlock the Super Hula option under Aerobics. It won’t take long, trust me! Okay, so do you have Super Hula unlocked? Good. Once you unlock it you’ll be able to choose the 6 minute option, and if you do it enough, you’ll unlock the 10 minute option. Are you there? Okay, here’s where the fun begins! Our challenge is to see who can get the highest number of spins in 10 minutes! My best prior to starting this challenge is somewhere around 3,000 spins, and I plan to improve it throughout this week to see just how many hoops I can get.

So, are you up for it? Great! Here’s the deal, everyday come back here and let us know what your highest score is and at the end of the week, the person with the highest overall score will be eligible to win this fabulous giveaway:

Looking for a fresh new way to shed some calories while having fun too? Of course you are! Do you remember how much fun it was too hula hoop as a kid?  Well Hoopnotica has a great product and DVD set that gets your hips and inner core muscles moving!

With hoops starting out at around $30 and DVD’s around $20, hooping  will be a  great activity for years to come. Once you learn the basic moves you’ll be able to make up your own workouts and be hooping your way to a great body.

    YEAH!! I love doing the 10 minute hula hoop. I want to say my best is right around 3200. I will double check later today or tomorrow. What a fun challenge!!

    Okay, I suck at hula hoop. I hardly ever did it before and I just unlocked super hula hoop and died at 867. People are getting more than three times that. Guess I won't be winning this challenge. It's okay, I'll keep trying.

    I have never done the 10 minute hula. I am going to try, although I am super excited to get 400 on the 6 minute. I pass out grasping for water when I am through.

    ok I finally officially joined-was sick last week & never got to it. I have only tried the hula a couple of times & failed miserably but am willing to give it another fair shot for this challenge! I will be out of the house 3 evenings this week so I will have to work it in during nap time or try to scrounge up energy in the mornings.

    Ok, I just did it…but I think I cheated! In between the two I had to pause b/c I had to help my daughter go to the bathroom. So my total was 3466. However, I do not think that I could have kept that pace without the pause.

    Ok so I missed yesterday but it sounds like a lot of fun. I've been needing a good excuse to whip out the ol' Wii Fit that DH spent a entire weekend searching for a Christmas. I have only used it 2 times too, so that is sad! :(( I'm gonna give it a shot. I doubt if I can do as well as everyone else is so far, but I'm gonna improve my score, which at this point is 4 spins!! Wish me luck for tonight when I get that thing out and give it a spin!

    I'm inspired! I haven't been on my Wii Fit for 67 days (according to the little board this a.m!). I did the Hula Hoop once or twice for 3 minutes, then twice for 6 minutes, and I totally broke a sweat! I finally unlocked 10 minutes-I'll try to get on there tomorrow sometime! Fun challenge!

    Well, I improved my score a tiny bit yesterday my abs are SORE. I also did some other Wii Fit stuff though. I tell you, doing the hula hoop intensely WILL cause you to sweat buckets. lol

    I don't know how the HELL SkinnyLisa got 3422 spins! I did two 10 minute runs in a row, and I'm EXHAUSTED! And my coordination dwindles with every passing minute of the second 10 minutes!
    3280 first try, 3315 second try.
    I'll be back! I'm extremely competitive, and I want to win! Maybe I'll lose some inches while I'm at it!

    Last night was my first night and I did 21 for my high. Tonight I got up to 97!! WhooooHoo!! That was in 70 seconds….I had to do it numerous times to get to that point but I got a good workout in in the process.

    Ok, I started at 2 spins, went up to 21 spins, did 97 spins then 108 spins in the 70 seconds.
    Tonight I moved up to the 3 minute spins and did 228!! I'm proud of myself even if no one else is!! Yea for me…now I'm off to bed. That is exhausting!!
    How do you do it for 10 minutes??

    Ok tonight I went 3 whole minutes with 543 spins!! Yeah for me!! Then I decided to be brave and try the 6 minutes and just see what I could do…I did 522 and then pooped out! I tried to do it again and just had nothing left to give!
    This week I went from 2 spins in the 70 second setting all the way up to 543 in the 3 minutes, then going ahead and doing 522 in the 6 minutes! That's over 1000 in 1 night!!
    Whoohoo!! Thanks for the challenge…I had a lot of fun and will continue seeing what I can do with it!!
