View Comments 11/06/2009 | Lissa

eas_active_dbldropThis weekend we are holding the Sisterhood Virtual 5K, along with EA Sports Active! Woot! How has your training been going? Are you planning on trying to run all of it or stick to a run/walk combination?

My Team Bismarck 5K is going to be held on Saturday and while I didn’t train this time around due to my back issues, I am excited nonetheless. I do planning on getting some walking in during that time and will be playing the paparazzi role. I encourage all of you to bring your camera or video recorder to your event… we want to see you in action! On Monday, in lieu of True Confessions, we will be visiting your blogs to hear about your 5K experience and see your photos! I know you all are going to ROCK IT!

So, let’s hear about YOU! Are you ready? What race did you choose? Are you pumped?? I can’t wait to hear about each and every one of you!

  1. I'm running the Dunkin Donuts 5k in Nashville tomorrow. Since we're Music City USA, we will have 3 groups of singers and Eddie and Taj George (Titans player and Taj was on Survivor last season) at our event. We get ice cream and Applebees, yum!

  2. That sounds so awesome! I wish we had races like that around here!

    Kick some butt, Becca!

April, Amanda, and I are running together on Saturday! I've mapped out our route, and it's going to be gorgeous!! I can hardly wait!!!

  4. Christie O. says:

the Blue Moon 5k! I've got a small party of runners, but running with tube socks nonetheless!!! Sunday, 7:30!

  5. TheaDramaMama says:

I'm running by my lonesome this weekend, just around the neighborhood!

  6. Pubsgal says:

I'm running the Theta Breakers on the Stanford Campus in Palo Alto, CA. Should be fun and quite scenic, with nice weather. I don't think there will be any donuts or beer, though. Darn!

    Good luck, everyone!

  7. Nancy says:

I'm doing Run Baby Baby Run 5k on Saturday with numerous family members. I've been dealing with injuries, so I'm hoping to run some or most of the race. This race is nothing fancy like Becca's. We get chili after the race though.

  8. TheDailyMel says:

That is so cool! I lived in Nashville for many years. Even as much as I love L.A., I really miss Nashville. Have a great race!!

  9. TheDailyMel says:

I'll be doing my own treadmill 5k at the gym on Sunday.

  10. ValleyGirl says:

There was no organized run in my area that I was aware of, but I did a 4.25-miler today just for the Sisterhood!! I know I only had to do 3.1 miles, but this was my little personal goal for this year. And I did it!! I walked/ran in half-mile repetitions, so I ended up walking and jogging each just over 2 miles. And I did it in exactly one hour!! Woo-hoo!!!

    Now I need a nap. ;)

  11. Heather says:

I'm doing the Free to Breathe 5K tomorrow in Seattle. Small team of three, but we're pumped. Even though it's probably going to be raining. In Seattle…imagine that!

  12. ladybugs714 says:

I did my 5K walk around my neighborhood this morning…reached my goal of finishing in less than an hour! Woohoo! Felt great!

  13. Hope says:

I jumped into the challenge late because I had already signed up for a 10K walk/run. I had a few bumps along the way but finished anyway…

Okay, I actually didn't even know it was 5K-day, and I “accidentally” walked 5K with my hubby and dogs anyway. Good for me! :)
