  • My favorite holiday memory from when I was young was my Ginormous stocking...it was seriously like 3 ft long. Wonder what ever happened to it?

Memories! I remember having a Christmas at my grandparents house with lots of little presents in their tiny little house (my mom and I lived with them). All my cousins lived there at the time, so there were lots of us. That house has always been in my memories!

I don't know if this is my favorite, but it is certainly my most vivid. I was five and brother was a hulk of a fat baby. I got a metal ironing board and iron and my dad sat my brother on the ironing board. I was scared to death that he would break it. Lucky for me, the legs held.

My favorite childhood memory is my grandfather making holiday decorations. He loved to decorate his house and inventing new decorations out of everyday materials. He save empty masking tape rolls-put them all together to form a tree and made his creation for everyone's windows.

I remember one year (I think I was 7 or 8) getting a doll called Heather. My sister got her friend Holly Hobby. We were so excited because Heather was brunette like me and Holly was blonde, like my sister. :)

I'm not even sure if I should join these challenges. I have an APO address (aka a US military address for those in the know) but don't actually reside in the US. If my name comes up, and USPS is not an option for shipping, then I think my mom would enjoy these!

My favorite holiday memory? Perhaps not one in particular, but just that of being with my entire family on the day, waiting for my dad to come home in the afternoon so we could all (extended family included) enjoy the day together.
  • Winner! K- the vouchers are good for US only, so just send me your mom's address!

My favorite childhood memory is when I was a kid and we went from Kansas to Colorado for Christmas to celebrate with my grandparents. We always got to spend time with cousins and we would have a "campout" in the bedroom with all the kids (7 of us). We also got to play in the snow and in the fields which for a small town girl was such a treat, making snow ice cream and snowmen!

I grew up in a family with 5 kids; my dad worked for our church, so not a lot of money going around. I remember officially postponing Christmas so we could get our gifts at the after-Christmas sales. One of the best Christmases ever!

gonna cheat a little - this isn't a memory of mine - but a family memory that i cling too. lest i forget about those in need during the holidays.

i was almost 2 and my sister had just turned 5. my dad worked in a factory and my parents lived paycheck to paycheck. then my father's appendix ruptured, and he was very sick and out of work for over a month.

people paid our mortgage. people paid our electric bill. people brought groceries. people brought Christmas. so much so that my sister and i never had a clue that we were that bad off financially. we wouldn't have had Christmas without them.
