Buh-Bye 2010…

[ 10 ] 12/31/2010 |

Can you believe it is the LAST DAY of 2010? When we wake up tomorrow it will be 2011, full of hopes, dreams, goals, and ambition. We can’t move on to the next year without reflecting on the year that is passing. Today, we are going to focus on all of the positives of 2010! What did you accomplish? What goals did you reach? What dreams came true?

I have really grown as a person during 2010. Thankfully, not in size. :) I overcame some major fears of mine… I slipped on my magical BornFit shirt back in May and got enough guts to finally attend a fitness class at my gym. And guess what? I LOVED IT. A few months later, I was brave enough to try kickboxing. You know what? I LOVED IT. I made my first vlog. Then a second, a third, and I’m still going strong. I have done two news interviews in the past two weeks. Sure, I felt like throwing up from my nerves and get all flustered, but the old me would have found an excuse to just NOT DO IT. I am working on my fear of talking on the phone.

I completed a 1/2 marathon and shaved over 20 minutes off my previous time! Not only that, I was part of an awesome team that raised over $43,000 for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

I flew across the country in March to attend a fitness conference and meet my online friends IN REAL LIFE. I was sooooo nervous, but for no reason. It was like we had been friends our entire lives.

I finally got into a groove during the last challenge. South Beach works for me. I lost 14 lbs in those 6 weeks, when it had taken me TWO YEARS to lose the 14 lbs before that!

I realized that while my body is not anywhere close to being perfect, it is mine, and it is amazing.

All in all, I am pretty dang proud of myself!

Let’s hear about your year, but only the good stuff, k? If you blog, write a post and link to it down below. If not, tell us about it in the comments.

happy new year!

let’s rock 2011!

let’s see – i walked a marathon. found out that i walked said marathon severely anemic (no wonder those hills were tough!) i was benched. i chose to honor my body over my goals. i coped with being benched. i got better. i kicked ass in my first triathlon. i trained to run a marathon. i’m preparing to kick that marathon’s ass.

considering all that – even with a few extra pounds – i think my body’s pretty amazing.

I started playing adult league water polo and ran 3x a week with the adorable puppy db got me in March. I was getting in pretty good shape when I started feeling yucky everynight after work. Turns out, our attempt at baby making went well, and fast. Much faster than the average 6-12 months we were told to expect it to take. We were planning on doing a small city hall wedding before we knew the baby was coming, so we stuck to the plan and at 20 weeks, just days before our wedding, we found out we areexpecting a very wiggly little girl. Now, she is due in 15 days, and we are waiting anxiously for her arrival. Its been quite a year.

I had to quit doing hair (which I LOVE to do) because of a ruptured disc in my neck and bone spurs in my shoulders, but since I quit I am much better so it was worth it. I will be officially retiring from the beauty shop (I still do manis and pedis) this month after I get the back child support that I have been trying to get since FOREVER —- WOOHOO!!

I started Nutrisystems and lost 14 pounds (finally something worked, but it is hard on the tummy). I am switching to South Beach because I got tired of the gas :( —-sorry but its true. It is based on the glycemic index as well so I hope it works as well for me as NS and as well as it did for you, Lissa.
