True Confessions of a Slacker

[ 7 ] 12/14/2010 |

Yes, it’s so totally true that I’ve been slacking lately. I’ve been letting my HoHoHoe teammates down for the Holiday Hoedown Challenge. Sorry girls :(

How have I been slacking?

  • I haven’t been sticking to any kind of plan. Unless you count not sticking to a plan as a plan. Because if you do, then I’m the ZEN master of that right now!
  • While I haven’t been sticking to anything, I have been doing okay with my food choices. I guess I’ve got that going for me.
  • I’ve been sorta maintaining my weight for the past 2 weeks. So that’s not all bad, right (even if it is up from the start of the challenge)?
  • I haven’t been consistent with exercise.
  • I haven’t been getting all of my water in everyday, but I have been drinking water. Some.

Why have I been slacking (because I really feel the need to make excuses):

  • The holidays, yo! I mean this is the time of year when everything is balls to the wall, right? Shopping, baking, parties, running hither and yon. I feel like I am going, going, going non-stop.
  • I live in the middle of nowhere. For real. So in order to get to all the places I need to go to do the things I need to do, it requires a lot of driving. HOURS of driving. That eats up a lot of my time.

What’s my game plan for pulling myself together and getting my head straight?

  • I am logging on to Weight Watchers today. Scout’s honor. I haven’t even peeked at the new PointsPlus plan (the shame), so I’m going to do it. I’m going to use my handy little iPhone to help keep track when I’m on the road, so I have no excuse!
  • I am going to find time to workout. Whether it’s finally lacing up my runners and getting out there for a run, or just doing my own bootcamp at home, I am going to do it. Starting today. And tonight, I’m going to Tworkout!
  • I am going to fill up my water bottle and keep it close at hand all day. I will also be filling up the toilet paper roll in the bathroom, because I have a feeling I’ll be spending a lot of time in there!

So there you have it. Tell me what you have to confess, and don’t raise your eyebrows and look at me like that, because I KNOW you have something. Write a post and link up below! You can grab the awesome button here!

While you’re here, be sure to hop on over and check out Well, Then. Melissa and I have been asked to contribute short vlog posts, and you can see what Melissa has to say about Avoiding Weight Gain During the Holidays (because she’s the ZEN Master, yo!).

Disclosure: Melissa and I received a Flip camera and monetary compensation to contribute to Well, Then. But as always, the opinions expressed over there are our own!

I had to laugh at your title. I would never in a million years think slacker when I think of you. Me…that is a whole different story. I’m heading back to write my slacker post now. Let’s get back on the horse together!
