Energize Your Morning Routine With Weight Watchers Coffee Cakes

[ 22 ] 02/05/2011 |

*Updated! The lucky owner of the energize your morning kit is in the comments!

Sweet or savory? I always go sweet, especially at breakfast time. Yes, I have a weakness for all things pastry and cake. Doughnuts, muffins, danish? Yum. But, unfortunately, most baked goods aren’t the healthiest way to start your day.

And diet baked goods? I’m usually pretty skeptical. Usually when you take out the fat, you hike up the sugar. Or you say bye-bye to taste.

So when Weight Watchers sent me some of their new Coffee Cakes from their Sweet Baked Goods line to try out, I went in expecting to like them, but not be blown away.

Boy, was I wrong. I LOVED THEM. It was hard to stop at one – and I had to hide them from my three year old son. These  cakes are not only delicious – they are moist and, to me, really taste like a traditional struesel topped coffee cake.

Each cake has a scrumptious cinnamon filling and is only 120 calories…with a whopping 5 grams of fiber. Paired with some fresh fruit, a veggie sausage patty and a steamy cup of coffee, it’s just about the perfect breakfast.

The new Weight Watchers Coffee Cakes became available nationwide in January and retail for $3.29 per package.

Weight Watchers also sent me an amazing kit to pump up my morning routine, containing:

·         a Yoga mat in a handy carrying case

·         $15 iTunes gift card for putting together an energizing morning playlist

·         Eco coffee cup

·         Instant coffee packs for on-the-go mornings

All in all, a wonderful kit to start my new year off right!

And guess what? I get to share an identical kit with one of our lucky readers! Want to know how this loot could be yours? There are two ways:

My day starts with Diet Coke. That cold burst of carbonated caffeine and phosphoric acid jump starts my motor like nothing else can.

the best way for me to get my morning workout on? going to bed at 8 or 9 the night before. :P

  • Denise

I am not a morning person. In order for my day to be great, I can not wake up and go right at it. I have to come alive slowly. As long as this happens, I’m GTG! I wish I was one of those people that could hop out of bed like a bolt of lightening but it just isn’t happening right now!

pumping up my morning??ummm.. that would be to sleep till noon!! but besides that I normally sit at the computer, have some breakfast and a big bottle of water, then work on some housework. Then by then I’m usually awke enough to get something “active” accomplished!!

Well, waking up on time would be a plus. I hate running around like a chicken when I am late and it is happening a lot lately.

Definitely 8 or so hours of sleep a night.

My favorite way to pump up my morning routine is to set my coffee pot the night before! Its always a great surprise to NOT have to get it ready in the morning :) Of course, I just have to remember to do that.

I start my day by waking up to my sunlight alarm clock-it’s less ‘traumatic’ to my brain then waking up to noise. I drink a HUGE glass of water, followed by 6oz of coffee with 2tbsp of coconut milk (healthy fats y’all). Now, that’s a great start!

I energize my morning by waking up slowly. Lying in bed until I’m good and ready not only puts me in a good mood, but makes me feel like I have more energy throughout the day. If only I could do this everyday!

My day begins with coffee, egg whites and veggies, and 1/3 cup of oatmeal. This keeps me running :)
I have begun morning workouts and they really keep me charged up all day.

I just graduated from college in May. I went from having three semesters in a row where I didn’t have to wake up until noon to having to get up at 4:30 every morning for a job I hate. The best thing that gets me going in the morning is a cup of french pressed Verona coffee from (I know, I know) Starbucks.

Walking my dog while listening to my iPod – it really gets me going for the day. I started Weight Watchers 3 weeks ago, and have amazed myself at how I’ve stuck with it. Probably because I’m getting positive results.

Doing Turbo Fire in the morning really wakes me up and gets me moving! I especially love doing a HIIT first thing!

When I am feeling motivated, I really like doing a cardio workout first thing in the morning. The 30 Minute Shred video is perfect, because it’s short enough that I can do it before work, yet it REALLY gets me energized and makes me feel like I’ve accomplished something.

My favorite way to pump up my morning is blasting Glee songs as I try to force my dog to go outside and make sure my husband isn’t eating all my Kashi cereal. :-)

I am a bit morning challenged, to put it mildly! But a good cup of coffee and some Greek yogurt usually can rectify that in fairly short order! And also, listening to the MorningCoach or Motivation To Move podcasts always gets me going!

I usually have to put a load of laundry in. Then I don’t have any excuses to why I am unable to get going. I feel good about myself at that point that I can put my needs first and work out.
