Great Stress Relief Challenge | The Sisterhood of the Shrinking Jeans LLC

You know the drill, right?

It’s 8:00 p.m. on Sunday night. You are tired from an extremely busy week and an even busier weekend and you realize that you have some important businessa post for the best website in the world  to take care of before getting ready for the next week and going to bed. It’s been looming on the horizon for the past week or longer but there always seems to be more important things to do! NOW there’s just no time to waste so you pull up the desk chair couch and ottoman and you start up the browser! BUT…Hold on…you are too stressed to really think clearly at this point and are only getting more stressed by the minute because now its bedtime for the kid and we all know how stressful that is! What are you going to do?

This summer has found me more stressed out than I have been in some time and I’m tired of feeling this way. What about you? Did you know that doing 30 minutes of yoga just three or four times a week will help relief stress and help you live a longer and healthier life.  If you go to this website you will see lots of proof of why yoga is important for our health. A quick google search can help you find even more documentation of how yoga is a great way to help reduce stress.

So….Here’s the challenge!! For the next 30 days (meaning from July 15 to August 15) we meaning you and you and you and ME are going to practice yoga for  a MINIMUM of 30 minutes a day for 3 days a week! (I know we are all busy and we are doing other types of exercise routines and training for this race or that race but seriously aren’t you supposed to do some cross training too)? Once you are finished with your day of yoga (any day of the week is fine) just do it and then get onto one of our many social media outlets and let us know. We are on Facebook and Twitter  or you could just come back to this site and leave me a comment! If you leave it on twitter please use the #hashtag #shrinkingjeansyoga so I can easily find you!

So you say you don’t know where to look for yoga poses to do? Heather just wrote a great post on some great poses! They are right here so take a few minutes and review them or you could look on google and find some great yoga videos to do. I even found several on my On Demand that are great for beginners or even more advanced yogi students! I have even done yoga with my Wii Fit! There is no excuse at least not one that I will accept except for if your doctor says NO!! Which of course is the first thing you should do before accepting this yoga challenge! Make sure your doctor says “yes, please take part in this great challenge” before you do so!

There are many poses that are great for helping you relax and breathe and even help us tone and strengthen our muscles. You can read more and see some poses here.

I have posted some yoga poses here too that you can feel free to follow along with. They are great for reducing the stress in our life!

At the end of the 30 days (on or around August 16th) I will put all the names of everyone who has done yoga and reported in for at least 3 days a week (meaning a total of 12 times) and we will have ourselves a little drawing! What for you might ask? I have a couple of ideas and I KNOW you will love what I have picked out….but I love secrets and surprises so that is just a little extra incentive for you to check in with us! 🙂
