Recipe: Sausage Pepper Pasta

February 7th, 2010 | Comments | Posted in Featured, Main Course, Recipes, Thea | by thea

I’m no cook. I try, but really I’m more of a Preparer. Or a Combiner.

Yeah. Combiner. That’s what I am. I like to find recipes with the fewest number of ingredients so that I have less of a chance to mess it up.

Which is why this is one of my favorite recipes to make. It’s one of the FEW recipes where I don’t need an actual paper in front of me to know how to make it. And it tastes good. AND the kids eat it. BONUS!

Without further ado, I present to you Sausage Pepper Pasta (I’ll give you 3 guesses what’s in it…)

14 oz. package turkey kielbasa, sliced into “coins”
1 each red, green, yellow bell peppers, sliced
1/2 jar (or more) pasta sauce
pasta

  1. Cook the pasta.
  2. While the pasta is cooking, brown the turkey kielbasa in a skillet.
  3. Add the sliced peppers to the skillet and cook for a little bit.
  4. Add the pasta sauce to the skillet and turn down to simmer until sauce is heated through.
  5. Drain the pasta.
  6. Put the sausage/pepper/sauce mixture over the cooked pasta.
  7. Devour.

This recipe will serve 4. The Weight Watchers Points Value will vary a little depending on which pasta sauce and pasta you use, but generally speaking the range will be between 7 and 10 points.

Happy Eating!

according to the daily plate with one serving of pasta and one brat (i'm cheating and using what I have instead...) one serving would be about 480 calories.

i'm a "combiner" like you. and you'd better believe we're having this for dinner this week.

I'm a pretty simple person when it comes to eating. Just give me some basic ingredients and tell me to combine them all together and I'm a happy momma! Not to mention if everyone can/will it that makes it even better! Thanks for the easy to fix meal idea, Thea!
  • I'm the same way. The less ingredients the better. I also need a picture so I can see what it's suppose to look like. If it's a recipe that involves making bread there's a 92% chance that my dish won't come close to the picture.

I always thought I was a mixer but I like combiner much better.

I'm not sure what I like most about this recipe....that it's so easy or that I have everything here already to make it. Thanks for the recipe. It sounds yummy.
