You all have met our first challenge winner, right? Well,  Shelli lost an amazing 11 pounds during our “Dreaming of a Light Christmas” challenge and we couldn’t be more proud of her! Today we are excited to let you in on a few of her secrets from her winning interview. If you haven’t done so yet, make sure you go give Shelli some love over at her place.

So Shelli, What was your starting weight before the “Dreaming of a Light Christmas Challenge” at the sisterhood?

174#

What made you join a challenge here at the sisterhood?

I adore the bloggers who created the sisterhood, they’re really real and honest and that’s what I’m all about.  No fluff, and not afraid to share struggles.

You lost a lot of weight over the two major holidays, what was the biggest change you made in your diet and or routine?

No Pepsi, back to diet soda which I’ve loved since childhood anyway.  Hubby has been a bad influence with soda, of course he’s a skinny butt.

If we were to peek at your food diary, what would see on an average day?

For breakfast I like savory things, I keep quite a few items from Schwan’s in my freezer.  For example I take their asparagus spears and a serving of their meatballs(6)with a small serving of jarred alfredo to dip the asparagus in and a bit of red sauce(Ragu or something simple) for the meatballs.  Of course I would sprinkle the jarred parmesan on that.  This would be roughly 350 or 375 calories but having that little dab of alfredo really satisfies.  The trick is to put the bit of alfredo sauce in a rameken, it feels restauranty and it avoids the heavy hand syndrome when pouring.

Big lunches usually leave me feeling sick so I either have a little hard candy{it was lunchtime when I got the interview email that’s why I have a Charm’s Blow Pop in my hand in my after pic}or a glass of juice or something around 100 calories.

Supper is a toss up, it’s my favorite meal so if I go a little heavy I just cut back for the night time snack.  I have these gut feelings about portion and how often I eat so I do good when I listen, which is not all of the time.

*Tip:  Always be as aware as you can about the calories in your food, I don’t pay too much attention to the fat grams, calories are my thing.

What is your favorite “healthy” snack?

I’ve never met a veggie that I didn’t like.  I’m a salad freak but they got me in trouble because I got in the habit of calorie filled toppings.  I adore fresh spinach, I even love brussel sprouts.

How would you say you diet? Are you a weight watcher or a calorie counter?

How bout calling me a calorie estimator

Every New Year there is always a push for people  to exercise, are you following suit?

Sort of but I’m not a routine person.  Random floor exercise/silly dance and mixing up routines on my treadmill.  I found a few minutes at a high incline does way more good than a great length of time on no incline.

What kind of  new exercises are you putting into you routine?

The Wii has been my biggest help, my daughter loves to beat me at tennis and I love to beat her at bowling.

What is your biggest dieting downfall? Sweets? Pop??

Anything savory and really good pie.  I used to have 2nds every night for supper but broke that habit several years ago.

If you had to choose, which one would you rather have for 2009, continued shrinking jeans or getting a 1,000 check in the mail from an anonymous donor?

Continued shrinking jeans for sure, if you feel good that’s worth more than money.

How are you planning to stay “looking fine for your valentine”? Do you have plans or a goal in mind?

Get up and move everyday, I’m a TV addict so I catch myself sitting too much.

Here at the sisterhood of shrinking jeans you have inspired so many others, what inspires you?

People who are consistent in what they do, I struggle with this but I’m beating it.

If you could share any piece of advice to help the sisterhood during the “looking fine for valentines challenge”, what would it be?

Don’t become a rabbit!  Eat those high calorie foods you love, just not as much and not as often.  It’s all about moderation.
