Last week when we were on our road trip home from Florida, we stopped in the lovely capitol city of Tallahassee for lunch and some site seeing. We grabbed a parking spot in a parking garage, and as we walked towards the elevators I saw this sign.
It was like a sign! Okay, it was a sign, but you know what I mean. I have to admit my husband thought I dumb for being so excited, but it was JEFF GALLOWAY. He’s like the Oprah of running! I’ve read his books, analyzed his advice on injuries, and been to his website so many times it’s almost stalker-ish.
No way was I going to pass up an opportunity to meet him. Or tell him I wanted to have his running babies. (okay, I’m only kidding about that.)
He was gracious and kind and so excited to hear about the 1/2 marathon I’d run in only a week prior. He posed for several snapshots and even told me to email him about some of his upcoming Marathon Training Schools. And he didn’t think I was dumb at all! If we weren’t on a 1,300 mile trek back to Houston, I would have even stayed for his class, but alas, we had things to do.
