Swimsuit Shrink-travaganza: A Giveaway (Day 3) | The Sisterhood of the Shrinking Jeans LLC

It’s day three of our Land’s End swimsuit reviews! Only 48 (or less hours) or less to enter our super swell swimsuit (that’s a lot of s’s, people!) giveaway. Hold on till the end of this post for entry details. Today, we’ve got reviews from Lisa and Crooked Eyebrow. I have images of what I think I look like in a bathing suit and then I take REAL LIFE shots of me in said bathing suit and quickly realize what I think I look like is NOT what I actually look like, especially from the back. Oh my word, I quickly deleted the backside shots from my camera and prayed to the Lord to give me strength to eat right and exercise right and shrink my derriere cuz really folks, I did not like what I saw and I know that this is not the point of this post. The point I should be making is talking about how this suit is all kinds of wonderful (and it is!) but this little exercise has definitely been an eye opener for me and maybe the swift kick in the ass that I so desperately need to get back on track.  Everyone needs a swift kick every once in a while, right? Anyhoo, I do love this suit- the fabric is of great quality and it fits nicely.  I chose the “Women’s Regular Beach Living Leaf Floral Loop V-neck Halter Tankini Swim Top” because 1) I love halter tops 2)it makes my ta-ta’s look bigger and inadvertently (or more like, on purpose) draws the eyes up and away from my trouble area(s).  I won’t point out my trouble areas because why state the obvious?  You can figure it out for yourselves. And yes, I am TOTALLY sucking it in for this picture.  Can’t you tell that I am holding my breath, lol? One of my favorite features of the Land’s End site was the fact that I could chat with a customer service rep when I had questions.  I was leery about ordering a suit over the Internet without getting to try it on first.  The CSR was very knowledgeable, answered all my questions, and helped me to order the right size.  She was friendly and funny to boot!

I am VERY happy with my suit and plan on getting lots of use out of it this Summer.

Whoa. It’s my first summer after having the baby. Enough said. (can’t I hide behind a towel??) Damn.

I need some sun, or some of the fake sun tan cream…

Thankfully the folk’s at Land’s End make it easy to pick out a suit for every body type. You see, I inherited my Italian grandmother’s big ol birthing hips and thighs but her upper chest did not get included in my genes. Get what I mean? A girl needs help. Breast feeding or not, I always need a suit that makes me look like I actually have chest. Therefore, I always, always but swimsuits separates. If I get a one piece to fit my bottom area, I’m swimming in the top. Not cute and every woman wants to look cute at the pool, right?

Right.

Having to pick out  a bathing suit was easy on the website. I had to pick out a plus size for my bottoms(cue fat bottom girls by queen) and quickly found a cute skirt . Because no matter how many squats or crunches I do, that last bit is not disappearing fast enough. Black is slimming right? Well, I got black. I always get black.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE these bottoms. I feel like I am all sucked in and am still able to hide *some* of my problems areas. I am guessing they don’t make bathing suits skirts quite long enough for my taste…i would like my legs covered completely!

The top? Oh the top. I wish I could wear this style for everything. The Women’s Valletta Print Bandeau twist tanks (that’s a mouthful) are wonderful. I finally got the support and shape that I like to have. I chose the black/chocolate brown print.

I have only washed it once and the colors and fabric have held up beautifully. This fabric is amazing, sturdy, well made and everything I have come to expect from Land’s End.

Now if they can make a magic suit that makes me a size 12 and tan.

No? A girl can dream, can’t she?

But at least I’ll look good this summer thanks to Land’s End.
