I’ve had a little problem with motivation to exercise lately. Seems like when my plate is full, my workouts are the easiest things to toss off to the side. Drastic times call for drastic measures.

Get a friend. Whether you call up your bff, grab your neighbor, or bring a furry four-legged creature into your family, sharing your workout with a pal can make it seem like not much of a workout at all! Yesterday, I grabbed this guy:

and we headed out around my ‘hood for W1D1 of the C25K workout. He is adorable, he loves me and doesn’t talk back. Perfect running partner.

Pin things. Preferably cute things that you want to wear this summer. Clothing that you will feel so much better wearing if YOU WORK OUT. Tone and tighten, then wear cute clothes.

Go all-in. I have this thing. I don’t really love running. I don’t think I am even a runner. Yet, every year, I find myself signing up for a half-marathon, which gets me training all spring. It doesn’t matter that I don’t run after said half-marathon until the next year, but that gives me three or four months of scheduled workouts. I’m starting a bit late this year, but yesterday I took the plunge and signed up for the Deadwood Mickelson Trail 1/2 Marathon on June 3rd.
