Hello hello! Happy Hump Day! You know what that means – Wednesday is here and therefore, hopefully by the time you are reading this you have already hopped on the scale to weigh in for our Spring Fling Weight Loss Challenge. How did you do in Week 2? Is your momentum still going strong? Are you picturing those cute sundresses and tank tops and capri pants we all want to be wearing? (I am about as out of touch as a person can be when it comes to fashion so I hope I did not goof up by mentioning capri pants. They’re not out of style, right? People still wear those, yes? Please tell me yes as I have a few pair myself I am counting on in my rotation!).
Anyhoo…. how did you do with last week’s mini challenge of keeping a food log or journal? Any eye-opening revelations? I am getting better at this habit but still have a long way to go! Now on to our new mini challenge!
Our new mini challenge this week is going to be getting at least 7 to 8 hours of sleep each night. You KNOW this needs to happen a) for your own sanity and the sanity of those around you and b) to keep you feeling rested and restored. When you are rested and restored, your head stays in the game on this journey we are all on. You have read the articles before and the studies. People who get proper rest just do better at losing weight and at taking care of themselves in general! Being tired not only leaves you feeling multiple levels of stressed and crazy, it also makes you vulnerable to poor food choices and blowing off workouts. That is NOT how we Sisters roll, people!!
And on that note, it IS getting late and I need to wrap this up to follow my own advice!
Just a quick reminder on a few things:
There is still time to register for the Run the ‘Hood 2013 Foxy 5k and 10k and 1-mile Family Fun Run . I do a lot of races, but the Run the ‘Hood is always my favorite! You know why? It is the only race where I have gotten a medal!! (everyone gets one!). And because the shirts and swag and fellowship among all of us doing a race on the same day just puts a smile on my face. By the way, you do not have to be a runner to enter this fun event, folks! Walkers are welcome and encouraged! It’s all good!
