Weekly Check-In, May 22. My Big Fat Lack of Motivaton

I looked at the calendar this morning and couldn’t believe it was already May 22. We are almost half-way through the year. HOW did that happen? I don’t know about you, but I set goals at the beginning of the year, and now I’m just home from an 8-Day Disney Cruise with a few extra pounds (of chocolate chip cookies) hugging my midsection, and I’m wondering what the hell I’ve been doing for the last almost 6 months. I have a serious lack of motivation, and I see so many of you ROCKING the weight loss and workouts this year – people like Ann and Jen and our very own Nancy and Mary – and then I shake my head because I feel like I’ve wasted so much time.

Do you feel that way? Do you beat yourself up because you’ve seen that cutesy graphic floating around that says ‘one year ago you’ll wish you’d started today’? Only it wasn’t a year ago, it was almost 6 months ago, and I have totally blown it off. Ugh.

I have rocked the weight loss before. I have lost over 50 pounds and kept it off for 6+ years, and in the last year and a half, I’ve let 15 pounds creep back on to me and it makes me feel horrible. I LOVED how I felt 15 pounds ago. How my clothes fit. The size I was wearing. And now I’m up a size, feeling jiggly and pudgy, and like I’ve lost my motivation. And it seems SO much harder to lose weight now *stomping foot*.

Do you have any motivation you can share with me? Isn’t that funny? Here I am in the ‘business’ of motivating all of YOU to get off your asses and get log your food and keep your chin up, and I’ve been over here in the corner not following my own advice.

Okay, enough of my pity party!!! Tell me this…..HOW ARE YOU DOING!? If you are rocking it, please share. Not only will it help motivate me, but you never know who else might pop in today needing that motivation…….seeking out that kick in the ass. BUT, if you are struggling like me, please speak up.
