Stitch Fix Review {November 2015}

0

Finally, my long-awaited Stitch Fix box arrived on my doorstep! I had to cut my Fixes down to once a month, instead of the every 2-3 weeks that I was doing previously because, you know, money. I still eagerly await each shipment, but have put a limit on myself that I can only keep one, possibly two, items from each fix. I had several requests this time around: small gold earrings, boyfriend jeans, and had pinned several styles I was coveting from other Fixers onto my Pinterest board.

How Does Stitch Fix Work?

It’s so easy to get started with Stitch Fix–fill out your personal style profile, schedule your first fix, and then tear into it when it arrives on your doorstep a few weeks later. A personal stylist actually hand-selects five items for you based upon your style profile, requests, and budget preferences. When your fix is scheduled, you pay a $20 styling fee. If you keep any item from your Fix, this $20 is applied to your purchase. If you keep nothing, you lose your twenty bucks… wah, wah, wah. If you keep ALL the items, you also receive a 25% discount off everything! You have three days to decide what’s staying and what’s not, then you just throw your return pile into a postage-paid bag and drop it in the mail! So easy! At the present time, Stitch Fix only styles women sizes 0/XS through 14/XL. They also offer maternity and petite sizing, and most recently began offering shoes!

Tips for Getting Your Best Fix:

When you checkout online, you have the option to leave feedback on each item for your stylist –do this! It helps your stylist nail down your style and personal preferences. Did you love the color of dress she sent, but not the style? Let her know! Were the shorts she sent way too short? Make sure you mention it! Are you wondering what in the heck she was thinking sending you another scarf? Speak your mind!

If you find a stylist you love, request her on your next Fix! I’ve had the same stylist for months now, and I adore her. She does a really awesome job of selecting pieces for me, and is willing to look at my notes to see what I like, dislike, and what events/special occasions I have coming up!

Make a Pinterest board with your favorite fashions and keep it updated. Link to it on your Stitch Fix style profile, so your stylist will have easy access! Do you see a piece in this post that you want in your fix? PIN IT! Google other Stitch Fix reviews and pin looks you love that other women have received.

My Fix:

Teresa Mini Bar Studs by Gorjana {$38}: I put in a request for some small, simple gold earrings. These totally fit my request, but there is just something I didn’t love about them… They look a little awkward, don’t you think? Verdict: RETURN.

Ruxin Boyfriend Jean by Mavi {$98}: I am still on the hunt for another awesome pair of boyfriend jeans. I love, LOVE my pair from Silver Jeans, but I can’t just wear them every single day, can I? I was thrilled when I took a cheat peek at the Fix coming my way and saw these jeans heading my way. Unfortunately, that was all I was thrilled about… The jeans didn’t fit my body right. The waistline left me needing crack patrol, did nothing for my butt, and accentuated the muffin around my middle. Verdict: SENT BACK.

Emme Suede Neckline Knit Top by Laila Jayde {$48}: I had pinned this shirt when I saw it on another Fixer’s review. The color is gorgeous, and I love that I can layer it under cardigans or where it alone with a scarf, or even under vests. So versatile. Verdict: KEEP!

Calandri Contrast Sleeve Poncho by RD Style {$68}: North Dakota winters are hard, cold, and just yucky. I find myself wanting to wear yoga pants and my favorite kitty sweatshirt every.single.day. I’m pretty sure my husband groans every time I pull that damn sweatshirt out of my closet. This poncho is the next best thing, promise. It’s SO COZY. You need this for those blustery winter days. Verdict: KEEP!

Malbec Elbow Patch Knit Top by Loveapella {$58}: I wanted this shirt so very badly. I have an obsession with all things elbow-patched. Horizontal stripes just don’t really do much for my figure, however, and this shirt was a size too small. Sadly, it went back. Verdict: RETURN.
